Plants create perfect organic chemical compounds for their own needs and purposes.
People then distill the plants and recover the volatile parts as essential oils.
Some people use these essential oils for wellness and personal pleasure, since many of these essential oils have been shown to have therapeutic applications, and many have attractive aromas, sometimes both.
Some people use these essential oils to support multilevel marketing systems, and attempt to lead people into believing that theirs are better/best/unique/therapeutic, and so on. And some do believe.
Others let the essential oils speak for themselves, give them back their voice so that they can speak to those who use them respectfully.
The plants produced them perfectly in the first place.
What people believe after that depends upon how well they choose to listen.
Organic certification of essential oils does not take into account the main reasons why we choose and use essential oils: for their aromatic qualities and perceived health benefits. Our essential oils are chosen on different criteria – olfactory excellence. Some may have organic assertions, and sometimes the finest oil we can find does come with organic claims attached. In most cases we do not emphasize this, although it may influence the product price.
Biodynamic agricultural methods were developed mainly in Germany and supported by Rudolph Steiner. They are intended as a means to return to ecologically-sound and sustainable agricultural production of foods by enhancement of soil biology and structure. This was and still is accomplished without the use of man-made herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers. Biodynamic agriculture has devolved into organic agriculture, with some of the esoteric methodology being abandoned in favor of a more easily implemented system. Nevertheless, when honestly pursued, with soil enhancement as the primary objective and healthful food as a logical outcome, organic agriculture is a highly worthy method of food production on a small to medium scale.
Whether the highly important organic growing of food and its certification should spill over automatically to essential oils is a matter of debate. Organically-grown herbs? Definitely. The distilled, hydrolysed, volatile fraction from those herbs? In our opinion, no. In many cases, the plant matter remaining, after being distilled and thereby sterilized, is sold as organic garden mulch. In doing so, the soils in which the plants are grown are further depleted in order to create another viable farming income stream. While this is understandable, it remains a complete denial of the major Organic rationale: improvement of depleted soils.
For these reasons, unless we have deep knowledge of the growing, harvesting, and distillation of an essential oil which meets our olfactory criteria, organic certification is not the primary reason for selection for use by Plant Extracts International.
We do not run promotional sales. We strive to keep our prices fair and consistent, and do not engage in an effort to artificially pulse sales. We do not build promotions into our pricing, nor do we have the added costs of promoting sales, which keeps our prices low and competitive. We prefer that our customers order because they are ready to purchase, not because they are waiting for a sale or promotion to reduce inflated prices. Our customers appreciate the consistency in pricing and the freedom to purchase whenever they are ready, without the risk of missing a sale.

Problems are usually the result of inadvertent water/essential oil spillage into the electronics of the Diffuser. The main causes of this are: overfilling the Diffuser; moving or bumping it with water in the bowl; diffusing with the Director Nozzle broken, upside down, or missing; or positioning the Director Nozzle so that mist falls onto the Diffuser's Control Panel. Any resulting damage can be resolved through replacement of the damaged component.
We work hard to keep our customers happily diffusing, and to keep their Diffusers out of landfills. Every Diffuser serviced is tested for 24 hours to assure that it is being returned in perfect working condition. When a Diffuser comes to us, whether for service covered by Warranty or Non-Warranty Service, we automatically renew the One-Year Full Warranty as of the date of repair. That helps you know that your investment in your H2EO Diffuser is a good one. It is always our goal to help people continue enjoying their Diffusers.
There are several quite well-researched explanations why the aroma of a particular essential oil is differently perceived by different people, and even by the same person at differing times, with no variation in environmental parameters such as temperature, air movement, or relative humidity.
Further, under controlled conditions, the same individual may perceive the differences between various essential oils even more widely. For example, Rosemary (cineole chemotype) oil has a minimal perception threshold 10 times lower than that of Sweet Orange Oil, all other things being equal.
Different people have widely divergent “aroma acuity” when referencing the same essential oil, for various physiological and psychological reasons.
Perception of the aroma of an essential oil is dependent upon measurable physical parameters such as vapor pressure, vapor density, and the degree of olfactory equilibrium in the plant chemical mixture that we recognize as an essential oil.
Previous exposure to an essential oil or the plant part from which it is derived, plus a personal physiological assessment of its intensity of its aroma, allows us to evaluate and characterize the essential oil.
Whether we are able to evaluate and characterize the aroma does not necessarily enable us to determine how beneficial or not inhalation of the vapors of an essential oil may be. A strongly-perceived aroma is not a guarantee of a noticeable physiological benefit, and the opposite is equally true: a barely-perceived aroma may be found to be very beneficial.
Research makes it clear that olfactory recognition of an essential oil and its intensity falls more into the area of psychological perception. Research also clearly shows us that the physiological benefit gained from inhaling an essential oil, which may in fact be able to be measured more empirically, does not necessarily correlate with its aroma and intensity.
In our opinion, we can gain much more from study and use of essential oils if we appreciate these differences.
Outside of the well-known single oils such as Lavender, Frankincense, Eucalyptus, Ginger, our blends are our most popular essential oils. BlueMel, Calm, Citrus, Un-Nausea (Ginger Melablend), Breathe (Niaouli Melablend), Northwoods, Peace (Lavender BlueMel), Respir-Ease, Therabreathe, VetiRose, and Yoga (Rosalina BlueMel) are aromatically balanced and formulated to maximize the efficacy of the constituents chosen for specific aromatic benefits.
Some of our essential oils are organic but this is not our main selection criterion.
Aethereo essential oils are analyzed before use by Gas Chromatography to verify their conformance with our standards. A full range of physical criteria are also measured and assessed for conformance.
When used appropriately and in small quantities, most essential oils are safe to diffuse around pets, including birds. Diffusion is by far the safest way to use essential oils around pets. At these extremely low levels, your pets should benefit right along with you. Consult your veterinarian if you have concerns about your pet’s allergies or reactions to specific chemicals. As manufacturers, we do not offer advice on specific issues or ailments your pet may be experiencing. If in doubt, there are resources available to pet owners on the internet and in print.
Unlike vegetable oils, which are non-volatile fatty acids and are prone to rancidity, essential oils are volatile, do not contain many oxidation-prone constituents, and are therefore very resistent to oxidation. Some, under extreme conditions, can oxidize. That can happen if the essential oil is subjected to heat, sunlight, or the cap being left off the bottle for an extended period of time. Given this severe ill-treatment, some oils more than others can oxidize over time. Only vegetable oils, other than fractionated coconut oil, will rancidify over time.
Room temperature is sufficient to store good quality essential oils. Storage in a refrigerator is not necessary, although in our laboratory we do store Reference Standard essential oils in a refrigerator, and Batch Retention samples in freezers, where we keep them for a statutory five years.
Small refrigerators generally run at about 38-40F, but their most useful feature is that essential oils can be stored in the dark, away from fluorescent lighting. Even though amber glass is fairly useful in keeping ultraviolet light away from the essential oils, dark is better. We use LED lighting in all areas where essential oils are handled, since there are no ultraviolet frequencies in the LED lighting spectrum.
We recommend the use of 7.5 ml bottles of essential oils. If the bottles are stored properly, and firmly capped when not in use, you can use them with confidence for several months or more.
Do not use massage blends that use any carrier oil other than fractionated coconut oil, which is extremely stable. All other vegetable oils will go rancid to a greater or lesser degree.
We use the standard 1.0 millimeter orifice for all of our essential oils. Smaller orifice sizes are not readily available, and are very frustrating to use with any but the lightest of oils.
The less viscous essential oils do pour more easily than the heavier oils, and we realize this can be something of a problem which can be partly overcome with different pouring techniques; some people try tilting the bottle less, which does help in the timing of the number of drops.
Paradoxically, holding the bottle vertical while dispensing drops allows for a slower drip because the air pressure in the bottle is not equalized, so surface tension is helping to control the drip rate. The trick then is to quickly turn the bottle right way up when the correct amount is about to be dispensed. The well in the drip cap will return any undispensed essential oil to the bottle.
Please understand that as a manufacturer of natural products, our company complies with FDA requirements, and therefore cannot dispense any information that might reference a medical condition or constitute medical advice. We are not - nor to the best of our knowledge are any other essential oil producers or distributors - licensed to give medical or therapeutic advice. We suggest you consult your qualified health care professional or certified aromatherapist. AethereoSticks are given a nominal one year expiry date when sealed and unopened. When unsealed, opened, and in use, trials indicate that a product life of about three months can be expected, depending upon frequency of use. Due to variations in aroma intensity, some will be effective for much longer than three months, and some for less. The variables to which the product may be exposed after opening will influence the length of time the essential oil in the AethereoStick remains available.
Both user and caregiver appreciate how empowering it is to have control over when, for how long, and how frequently AethereoSticks are used. It is a personal decision when they desire to inhale the aroma. By contrast, the effect from a cottonball or a patch is in play as long as it is active.
With AethereoSticks, one can easily alternate or switch among them for various needs (for example, from nausea to anxiety). As AethereoSticks are kept capped except when in active use, they benefit only the user, whereas the cottonball or patch affect everyone in the area. Even when in active use, AethereoSticks are single person exposure. They benefit only the user and do not affect others in the room. They are the ultimate in personal, private diffusion.
An AethereoStick will be effective to use for many months, versus a day for the effective-life of a cottonball or patch, making AethereoSticks far more cost-effective.
Capped until used, the essential oil is inhaled from within a few inches, so very little aroma is lost to the atmosphere.
Aethereosticks are effective for at least three months after opening and with daily use, making them extremely cost-effective. Minimal use-by date is 12 months from date of manufacture. Our laboratory testing indicates viable product life is at least twice this length of time.
Our selection of AethereoSticks in essential oils and therapeutic blends are formulated for specific and general well-being.
Aethereo Massage Oils contain only pure essential oils in a Fractionated Coconut Oil (FCO) base. Rather than use coconut oil (which is not stable under all conditions), we use the fractionated medium-chain triglycerides from coconut oil. These are the fatty acid esters of glycerol, mainly caprylic, capric, and a smaller proportion of caproic fatty acids. In common usage, the term “Fractionated Coconut Oil” (FCO) is used. The abbreviation MCT is also commonly used.
Widely used in medications, cosmetics, and food, FCO is non-toxic, has no discernible aroma, color, or taste of its own. As it contains only medium-chain triglycerides, it is the most stable of all carrier oils. These highly stable formulations will not oxidize over the life of the product with normal use. Aethereo Massage Oils offer pure, clean aromas unhindered by extraneous smells often found in other carrier oils. Their superior ‘glide’ means less is used during each massage.
The PET bottles do not promote photo-oxidation of the constituents. The essential oils are protected by the fractionated coconut oil, which additionally shields the essential oil from atmospheric oxidation. Responsible storage away from sources of heat and light will add further protection.
The right use of essential oils can assist the body's natural ability to balance, heal, and maintain wellness. Our guiding principle is that LESS IS MORE when using these precious plant oils.
Our massage oils are effective as barriers against excessive moisture loss. This is much different from claims often made in error – that oils are moisturizing. When massage oils are applied to the skin, they will enhance softness and lubricity, skin properties which are diminished by soaps and long bathing times.
An Aethereo Everywhere Diffuser weighs less than four ounces (under six ounces with batteries), and measures approximately 2.5” high and 3.5” in diameter.
Depending on factors including airflow and humidity, this diffuser will be most effective within an eight to ten foot radius.
Its unique features include:
Aethereo Everywhere utilizes a small fan to diffuse the essential oil into the area it is being used. It is ideal for small spaces – cars, hotel rooms, small bedrooms, practitioners’ rooms, or travel to in-home treatment sessions. H2EO AirCare Ultrasonic Diffusers are by far the most efficient way to diffuse essential oils into a medium to large room. They are effective in an area up to 1500 to 2200 cubic feet. Using the water in the bowl of the diffuser as the “carrier” for the essential oil, each nano-droplet of water is covered with a molecule-thin coating of essential oil, which rapidly becomes part of the room’s atmosphere..
These diffusers are designed to diffuse the majority of the essential oil in the first three hours, so adding more oil after 2-3 hours would be optimal.
Aethereo Everywhere Diffusers operate so quietly, that you can’t hear the fan running unless you hold it to your ear. They do not make any beeping noises when turned on or off.
Aethereo Everywhere Diffusers use no heat from any source, therefore the essential oils diffused by them will not be heated.
Aethereo Everywhere diffusers are manufactured in Taiwan to Plant Extracts International’s design and technical specifications.
The stainless steel Buffer Ring raises the Aroma Pad off the surface of the diffuser well, which helps prevent essential oil carry-over when changing from one oil to another.
Since it runs so quietly, you would have to hold the diffuser to your ear to hear it. If the green light is on, the diffuser is working.
Any pure essential oils or pure essential oil blends can be used.
Rechargeable batteries will work but they cannot be recharged in the Diffuser.
To use a car adapter (which you may already have for your cell phone) you need a USB cable (which you may also already have for your cell phone). Many people already own both, so if you do, you will not need a special Aethereo USB cable or car adapter. In adition to your choice of a 7.5 ml bottle of essential oil, every Aethereo Everywhere Diffuser includes both a USB Cable and a Wall Adapter.
This would only be detrimental if left in a hot place for an extended amount of time, or if left in direct sunlight.
Aethereo Everywhere Diffusers and accessories are BPA-free.
As there are no serviceable parts, there is no warranty for this Diffuser.
Gently clean the outside of the Diffuser with an alcohol wipe, a soft, damp cloth, or a facial tissue. Wipe out the Diffuser well in the same way. As with all electronic devices, be careful to not get water into the electronics.
